This motherhood photoshoot for Kristen and her daughter Gretta was an actual dream come true for all of us. It was such a special moment being able to capture the love between a mother and daughter. We decided to have an intimate photoshoot at their newly built home on their land. This session is FILLED with all the vintage and nostalgic vibes and the intimate moments of motherhood. I can’t wait for you to see this gorgeous session and get inspiration for your motherhood session!
Kristen is so special to me – she was the first mentor I ever invested in. She taught me how to shoot in manual and tips on social media. Before I even fully knew her, I followed her because of how much of a light she was. A light for Jesus and encouragement for everyone around her. We previously did a session together when she was a new first time mama with Gretta – struggling with postpartum and that session changed me.
When you photograph someone struggling with PPD and see them sitting there in the bottom of the shower, holding their baby, struggling but also surviving – it changed me. It also led us to this day. I know that we can see each others messes and sit with one another. We can also create something beautiful in the midst of any darkness. I wanted to add to my home and heart portfolio so I asked if she would be up to model for a session I had in mind. It was simple – I just wanted to be present with them.
We started the session by setting up her bathroom with nooks from around her home. Her and Gretta got in the bathtub together – such intimate but joyous moments. How often do you simply get to get a bath with your baby and just slow down to enjoy that little bit of time without being in a rush to bathe and get out to get (x,y, and z) done. To be fully present. To play. Especially since they would soon become a family of 4.
The dress Gretta is wearing jumping on the bed is actually her grandma’s and the high chair is her dad, Spencer’s great grandpas (it’s over 100 years old). It was just a genuine time of simply being present with one another and remembering to take it all in. Simply put it was an absolutely beautiful and intimate motherhood session and if I could do it all over again and again, I would!
“3 words: BOOK. THIS. BABE! It’s so hard to put into words what working with Tiffany is like. But if you have worked with her, YOU KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. She is from a different mold. She sees the world and people differently than most, and the way she captures that on camera is MAGICAL. The way she makes you FEEL during your session, and then seeing your photos afterwards is indescribable- and I am not just saying that. I was in a season of life that wasn’t the happiest.
She somehow took the dark, lonely, isolating, sad parts of what I was feeling, and turned them into the most pure, most humbling moments I have ever experienced…and now I have those photos on my bathroom wall to remind me of how far I have come. Her heart is pure gold and you will never meet a person who wants to serve you, and bring your vision to life more than her. Tiffany always OVER-delivers and she is basically a super hero when that camera hits her hand. She is incredible to say the least, and I am so grateful to have priceless memories captured by her. I cannot wait until our next adventure together! Love you and your sweet heart so.very.much!
-Kristen”
